The Cape cormorant is a medium-sized seabird from the cormorant family. It lives in cold coastal waters of southern Africa and catches fish underwater.
The Cape cormorant differs from other cormorants in its small body size and ability to form huge colonies of tens of thousands of pairs. It is important for nature as a fish consumer and a source of nutrients for coastal ecosystems.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
