Leiopelma hamiltoni
Leiopelma hamiltoni is a very rare small frog that lives only on one small island near New Zealand. It is one of the oldest species of frogs on Earth, almost unchanged for millions of years.
Leiopelma hamiltoni differs from other frogs by direct development without tadpoles and almost complete lack of voice. The species is very rare and important for science because it helps understand the evolution of ancient amphibians.
