Prioniturus montanus
The mountain racket-tailed parrot is a bird from the parrot family that lives only in the mountains of Luzon Island in the Philippines. In adult birds, the two central tail feathers are greatly elongated and end in flat racket-shaped extensions.
The mountain racket-tailed parrot differs from related species with distinctly shaped racket-like tail ornaments and strict attachment to mountain forests. It disperses tree seeds and serves as an indicator of the health of Philippine mountain ecosystems.
