Hoffmann's sloth is a mammal from the order Pilosa. It lives in trees in the tropical forests of Central and South America, moves very slowly, and spends almost its entire life hanging from branches upside down.
Hoffmann's sloth differs from the three-toed sloth in the number of fingers on its front paws and its larger size. It is important for the forest because it disperses plant seeds and serves as prey for large predators.
