asian barred owlet
Glaucidium cuculoides
The Asian barred owlet is a small owl 15–17 centimeters long. It lives in the forests of South and Southeast Asia, is active day and night and hunts insects and small animals.
The Asian barred owlet differs from most owls in that it often hunts during the day and has a bright striped pattern on its chest. It is useful for the forest because it controls the population of insects and small rodents.
