Calm, peaceful, moderately active. Gets along well in mixed flocks. Has a pronounced instinct for incubation and raising offspring. Less timid than many other ornamental breeds.
Chinese Owl — a small ornamental breed of domestic pigeon with compact, stocky, almost cubic conformation. Weight 240–310 g, body length 190–230 mm, wingspan 480–540 mm. Distinguished by an extremely short thick “seagull” beak (12–15 mm), large wide head (38–44 mm) with high rounded “faceted” forehead, pearl-white eyes, short thick S-shaped neck (55–65 mm), very lush long wavy cravat (cravat, up to 40–45 mm) on the chest and front of the neck, short mitted legs (tarsus 22–27 mm) with “slippers”. Wings 140–155 mm, tail 55–65 mm (12–14 rectrices). Colors: black, red, yellow, silver, blue, bronze, pied. Cravat, forehead and cheeks must be clean and contrasting. Ideal proportion: body length ≈ height in stance, head ≈ 1/5 body length.
