Kinosternon angustipons
The Caribbean mud turtle, or Kinosternon angustipons, is a small freshwater turtle with a narrow bridge between the upper and lower parts of its shell. It lives on the bottom of shallow water bodies in Central America and spends almost its entire life there.
Caribbean turtle differs from related species by a very narrow bridge between the carapace and plastron. It is important for nature because it eats invertebrates and helps keep water bodies clean.
