Lyconema barbatum
Lyconema barbatum
Lyconema barbatum is a deep-sea fish with a long body and a bundle of sensitive barbels on its head. It inhabits the bottom of cold seas in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean.
Lyconema barbatum differs from other eelpout fish with a large number of long antennae on the head. It plays an important role in the deep-sea food chain as a predator of small invertebrates.
