Wadh
Waddah (Al-Waddah, Maghateer) dromedary
Calm, balanced, highly resistant to stress and heat. High sociality in the herd, low aggressiveness. Strong instinct to protect offspring and territory. Well adapted to nomadic life in the desert.
Waddah (Al-Waddah, Maghateer, Magatair, Maghatir) — a breeding line of the dromedary camel developed by the Bedouins of the Arabian Peninsula. Large but relatively light and elegant dromedary with a dry, harmonious conformation, high milk productivity and attractive appearance. Height at withers 185–205 cm (males), 175–195 cm (females); body length 260–310 cm; live weight of males 550–750 kg, females 450–620 kg. Head light, dry, elongated (380–460 mm), profile straight or slightly convex. Ears small (70–95 mm), pointed, erect. Eyes large, dark brown or almost black. Muzzle elongated, nostrils long, slit-like. Neck long (110–130 cm), thin, with a curve. Hump single, high, pear-shaped (height 45–65 cm), located closer to the front of the back. Limbs very long and dry, foreleg 140–160 cm. Tail short (55–75 cm), thin. Coat very short (8–18 mm on the body, up to 25–30 mm on the hump and neck), fine, silky. Classic color — pure white or milky white; light cream, light sandy with a white sheen are allowed. Differs from the basic dromedary by a lighter constitution, long graceful neck, high leg set, characteristic head profile, short silky coat and position of the hump.
