Propithecus coquereli
Coquerel's sifaka is a large lemur with white fur and dark markings on the head and forelimbs. It lives only in the northwest of Madagascar and moves by jumping on its hind legs, holding its body upright.
The Coquerel's sifaka differs from other sifakas by head coloration and preference for dry forests. It is important for nature because it disperses plant seeds and serves as an indicator of the health of Madagascar's forests.
