Baldwin guinea pig
Calm, friendly, social. High need for contact with humans and conspecifics. Less active than haired guinea pigs, tires faster from prolonged play due to lack of fur. Gets along well in groups, rarely shows aggression.
Baldwin — a completely hairless breeding line of guinea pig obtained by mutation from American short-haired. Distinguished by complete absence of hair on the entire body from birth to the end of life (unlike Skinny). Build strong, compact, cobby-type: body cylindrical, back straight or slightly rounded, rump wide. Skin thin, delicate, elastic, often gathers in small folds (especially on the neck, armpits, groin). Adults: weight of males 700–1200 g, females 650–1050 g; body length 220–320 mm; chest girth 180–240 mm. Head round, wide, length 55–75 mm. Ears large, thin, petal-shaped (25–35 mm high, 20–28 mm wide). Eyes large, round. Whiskers absent or single short. Paws short (front 35–45 mm, hind 40–52 mm). Tail rudimentary (3–8 mm). All colors of American and satin guinea pigs allowed. Standard: clean skin without scars and strong folds in young, strong muscular body. Disqualification: significant hair in adults, deformities, cryptorchidism, hunchback.
