Calm, peaceful, moderately active. Characterized by pronounced vibration or trembling of the body and neck (trembler), especially during excitement or courtship. Gets along well with other pigeons, non-aggressive.
Mookee (Mokeetaube, Trembleur de l’Inde) — a small, light, elegant breed of domestic pigeons. Weight 240–340 g (males 280–340 g, females 240–290 g), body length 280–340 mm. Slender, almost “chicken-like” body posture with high stance, long thin neck and constant fine vertical tremor of the neck and head. Head small, rounded, dry, with a high slightly convex forehead. Beak thin, straight, 18–23 mm. Eyes large with pearly-white or light-silver iris. Body narrow, chest narrow with protruding keel bone. Back long, straight. Wings long, tightly pressed, tips almost reaching the end of the tail. Legs relatively long (shanks 35–42 mm). Tail narrow, strongly compressed laterally (12–14 feathers, usually 14), held strictly vertical (75–90° to the line of the back), width of the spread tail no more than 45–50 mm. Plumage dense, smooth, shiny with strong metallic sheen on the neck and chest. Main colors: black (with green-violet sheen), red, yellow, white, blue, smoky, lavender, silver; pure solid-colored birds preferred. Differs from the base type by smaller size, vertical compressed tail, neck tremor and long shanks. From other tremblers — absence of crest, smaller size, narrow vertical tail. Ideal proportions: body length to height at withers 5:4. Disqualifying defects: absence of tremor, wide/horizontal tail, presence of crest, feathered shanks, weight outside 210–380 g.
