Calm, balanced, friendly and obedient. Less energetic and curious than many other dairy goat breeds. Gets along well in a herd, low aggression.
Flemish Goat (Vlaamse Geit) — one of the largest European dairy and meat-dairy goat breeds. Powerful, long-legged, elongated animal with well-developed musculature. Height at withers: bucks 900–1100 mm, does 750–950 mm. Live weight: bucks 90–130 kg (up to 150 kg), does 65–95 kg (up to 110 kg). Oblique body length 850–1200 mm. Stretch index 115–125%. Distinguished by pronounced Roman nose, very long wide horizontally set ears (180–260 mm), long muscular neck, strong bone structure. Coat short, smooth, tightly fitting. Acceptable colors: fawn of various shades (dominant), black, piebald, red. Most valued is uniform fawn without large white spots. Not allowed: weak bone structure, sagging back, absence of Roman nose, long coat, large white spots.
