Batrachostomus cornutus
The crested frogmouth is a medium-sized nocturnal bird with a very wide mouth and tufts of feathers on the head resembling horns. It lives in dense tropical forests of Southeast Asia and camouflages excellently as tree branches.
The horned frogmouth differs from related species by noticeable horn-like tufts of feathers on the head. It plays an important role in the forest ecosystem by controlling insect populations and serving as prey for snakes and birds of prey.
