white-naped swift
Streptoprocne semicollaris
The white-headed American swift is a large bird of the swift family. It lives in the mountains of Mexico and Central America, spends almost its entire life in flight and has a white spot on the nape.
The white-headed American swift differs from related species by a wide white half-ring on the nape. It is beneficial to nature as it destroys a large number of harmful insects in mountainous areas.
