The Tibetan sandgrouse is a medium-sized bird that lives on the high plateaus of Central Asia. It is well adapted to cold dry steppes and can walk on the ground and fly long distances to water.
The Tibetan snowcock differs from other snowcocks with its densely feathered legs and ability to live at very high altitudes in cold steppes. It helps spread plant seeds and serves as prey for highland predators.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years

Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
