Chromis chromis
Chromis is a small marine fish up to 15 centimeters long. It lives in the Mediterranean Sea and the eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean, often staying in schools near rocks and reefs.
Chromis differs from other damselfish by the dark coloration of adults and bright blue color of juveniles. It plays an important role in the marine ecosystem, eating plankton and serving as food for larger fish.
