Tropheus duboisi is a medium-sized cichlid that lives only in Lake Tanganyika in Africa. Adult fish have a dark body with a bright white or yellow stripe along the side.
Tropheus duboisi differs from related species by a wide light stripe on its dark body. The fish is important for the lake because it controls the growth of algae on the rocks and serves as part of the food chain.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
