Sistrurus catenatus
The chain dwarf rattlesnake, or massasauga, is a small venomous snake. It lives in North America, has a rattle on its tail, and uses venom for hunting.
The massasauga differs from large rattlesnakes in its small body size and less dangerous venom. It is important for nature because it limits the number of rodents and serves as food for birds of prey.
