Mungar is a large predatory freshwater fish from the cyprinid family. It lives in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and can grow up to two meters in length.
Mungar differs from other cyprinid fish by its large head and predatory feeding method. As a large predator, it regulates the population of small fish in rivers. The species has become rare due to dam construction and overfishing.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
