Morelia nauta is an arboreal python from Halmahera Island in Indonesia. The snake lives in trees in tropical forests and hunts small animals.
Morelia nauta differs from related pythons by its bright coloration and strictly arboreal lifestyle. It regulates the population of small animals in the tropical forest and serves as prey for large predators.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
