Nimbochromis polystigma is a cichlid from Lake Malawi in Africa. The fish has an elongated body with numerous dark spots that help it hide during hunting for other fish.
Nimbochromis polystigma differs from related species by large distinct spots and bluish coloration of males. The fish is important for the lake because it controls the population of small fish and maintains natural balance.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years

Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
