The collared cobra, or rinkhals, is a venomous snake from South Africa. It can spit venom into an enemy's eyes from up to two meters away and often pretends to be dead for protection.
The collared cobra differs from other cobras by being viviparous and having the habit of pretending to be dead. It is important for nature because it controls the population of rodents and other small animals.
