The pygmy bat is one of the smallest bats. This nocturnal mammal lives in Europe and Asia, hunts flying insects using echolocation, and often rests in buildings near humans.
The pygmy bat differs from other bats by its very small body size and high frequency echolocation signals. It provides great benefit by destroying huge numbers of mosquitoes and other pest insects.
