Labeotropheus fuelleborni, or the blue mbuna, is a bright cichlid from Lake Malawi in Africa. Males have a rich blue color, and the fish live among rocks and feed on algae.
The blue mbuna differs from related species in its special tooth shape and thick lips. It is important for nature because it controls the growth of algae on the rocks of Lake Malawi and serves as food for larger fish.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
