rafinesque s big-eared bat
Corynorhinus rafinesquii
Rafinesque's big-eared bat is a bat with very large ears. It lives in forests and swamps of southeastern North America, is active at night, and feeds on insects.
It differs from other bats by very large ears and lack of a nasal septum. It is important for nature because it eats numerous harmful insects and serves as food for predators.
Hunts at night using echolocation, flying low over the ground and among trees.
