Bocage's hairy bat is a small mammal from the family of smooth-nosed bats. It lives in Africa south of the Sahara, has reddish fur and hunts insects at night using echolocation.
This bat differs from related species by its dense reddish fur and preference for banana plants for daytime rest. It is beneficial to nature because it destroys many pest insects.
