Markor
Capra falconeri
The markhor, or marhur, is a large even-toed ungulate mammal with spiral-shaped horns. It lives in the mountains of Central Asia and is well adapted to rocky slopes.
The markhor goat is distinguished from other wild goats by its unusual screw-shaped horns, which are only in males. It is important for nature as a herbivorous animal of mountainous regions and needs protection from poachers.
