tonkin snub-nosed monkey
Rhinopithecus avunculus
Tonkin snub-nosed monkey is a rare monkey with a short upturned nose. It lives in the mountain forests of northern Vietnam and is endangered.
The Tonkin snub-nosed langur differs from related species with its very short upturned nose and black-and-white fur coloration. It is important for nature as a seed disperser for trees and an indicator of the health of Vietnam's mountain forests.
