pacific golden plover
Pluvialis fulva
The Pacific golden plover is a medium-sized migratory bird from the plover family. In summer it lives in the Arctic tundra, and spends the winter on the coasts and islands of warm seas.
The Pacific golden plover differs from other plovers by its bright golden back color and very long flights over the ocean. It helps control the number of insects in the tundra and connects ecosystems of different parts of the world.
