The brown skua is a large seabird with a wingspan of up to one and a half meters. It lives in cold waters around Antarctica, hunts fish and other birds, and often steals prey from penguins and albatrosses.
The brown skua differs from related species by its larger body and dark brown color without light spots on the back. It is important for nature because it regulates the population of other birds and cleans the shores of food remains and dead animals.
