Bruun's cutthroat eel
Histiobranchus bruuni
The Brun's moray eel is a deep-sea species from the gulper eel group. This fish lives on the ocean floor at depths from one to five kilometers and has a large head with a wide mouth.
Brun's eel differs from other eels by its very wide mouth and life at enormous depths where there is almost no light. It participates in the nutrient cycle on the ocean floor by eating remains of dead animals.
