Dimidiochromis compressiceps
The Knife cichlid, or Malawi Eyebiter, is a predatory fish from Lake Malawi. It has a strongly laterally compressed body that helps it swim quickly and hunt other fish.
The Knife cichlid differs from other cichlids in its flat body and method of hunting the eyes of prey. It helps maintain balance in the lake by controlling the population of small fish.
