Theropithecus gelada
Gelada is a large monkey from the highland regions of Ethiopia. It stands out with bright red skin on its chest and neck, a long mane in males, and the fact that it feeds almost exclusively on grass.
Geladas differ from other baboons in that they live high in the mountains and feed on grass like ungulates. They are important for nature because they disperse plant seeds and serve as prey for leopards and hyenas.
