bony-eared assfish
Acanthonus armatus
The bony-eared donkey fish is a deep-sea species from the family of ophidiids. It lives on the ocean floor at great depths where there is almost no light and it is very cold.
The bony-eared assfish has the largest ear bones among all animals and a very small brain. It helps understand how creatures live in complete darkness at great depths and is part of the deep-sea food chain.
