The northern striped newt is an amphibian with a dark body and light vertical stripes. It lives in the forests and mountains of the Caucasus and Turkey, spends part of the year on land, and returns to water for breeding.
The northern striped newt differs from related species with bright stripes on the sides and the shape of the crest in males. It is beneficial for nature because it eats harmful insects and serves as food for birds and other animals.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
