The striped cusk-eel, or Lepophidium staurophor, is a marine bottom-dwelling fish with a long serpentine body. It lives in the warm waters of the western Atlantic and hides on the seabed.
The striped cusk-eel differs from related species with its bright pattern of dark stripes on the body. It plays an important role in the marine ecosystem as a predator of small bottom-dwelling animals and as prey for larger fish.
Locomotion through water employed while searching for or capturing prey.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years

How old you would be if you lived as {name}
Theoretical maximum lifespan estimated from the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) mathematical model. This value reflects a biological potential derived from metabolic parameters, not from direct observation — real recorded lifespans are often significantly shorter.
