Blackear lizardfish
Synodus hoshinonis
Synodus hoshiinosinis, or black-eared lizardfish, is a marine bottom-dwelling fish with a long body and large head. It lies on the sand or buries itself in it and suddenly grabs prey.
It differs from other lizardfish species by a black spot behind the eye and a specific body pattern. As a bottom predator, it helps maintain the balance of small marine animal populations.
