The Malaysian softshell turtle, or dogania, is a freshwater turtle with a soft flat shell. It lives in rivers and streams of Southeast Asia and hides well on the bottom.
The dog-faced turtle differs from other turtles with its completely soft shell and long breathing snout. It is important for nature because it controls the population of small animals in rivers and serves as food for larger predators.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
