mareeba rock wallaby
Petrogale mareeba
The Mareeba is a small rock wallaby from northeastern Australia. This marsupial mammal jumps excellently on rocks and hides in rock crevices.
Mareba differs from close wallaby species by its smaller body size and narrow habitat range only in Queensland. It is important for nature because it spreads plant seeds and serves as prey for local predators.
