long-tailed skua
Stercorarius longicaudus
The long-tailed skua is a medium-sized seabird with very long central tail feathers. It nests in the Arctic tundra and spends winter in the open ocean.
The long-tailed skua differs from other skuas by having the longest tail feathers. It is important for the tundra nature as it regulates the population of lemmings and transfers nutrients between land and sea.
