Chantre's karasobarbus, or Orontes himri, is a freshwater fish from the carp family. It lives in the rivers of the Middle East and has a silvery body up to 30 centimeters long.
The Orontes himri differs from related carps in its silvery coloration and adaptation to life in rivers with moderate flow. It is important for nature as a participant in the Orontes River food chains and an indicator of water quality.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
