Phrynopus kauneorum is a small frog from the family Craugastoridae. It lives only in the highlands of southern Peru and develops without an aquatic tadpole stage.
Phrynopus kauneorum differs from closely related species by a special pattern on the back and the shape of the snout. The species is important for high-mountain ecosystems of the Andes as part of the food chain and an indicator of the state of the environment.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
