Caecilia subnigricans
Caecilia subnigricans is a legless amphibian from the order of caecilians. It lives underground in the Magdalena River valley in Colombia and has a long dark body with annular folds.
This species differs from related worms by the number of body rings and dark almost black color. Worms are important for nature because they loosen the soil and control insect populations.
Searching for and swallowing prey whole in underground burrows.
