Paraplesiops alisonae is a small marine fish up to 15 centimeters long. It lives on rocky reefs off the southwestern coast of Australia and belongs to the roundhead family.
Paraplesiops alisonae differs from related species by a unique combination of dark coloration and yellow markings on the fins. It helps maintain balance on the reef by eating small invertebrates and preventing their excessive reproduction.
Quickly grabs its prey with its mouth after a short lunge.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
