The Tibetan toad lives on the high plateaus of Tibet and in the mountains of China. This small amphibian is adapted to cold climate and altitude over two kilometers above sea level.
The Tibetan toad differs from other toads by living at high altitudes and in the cold. It controls the population of insects in the mountains and serves as food for birds and snakes.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
