The Olrog's cinclodes is a small bird of the ovenbird family. It lives in the highlands of the Andes at altitudes from three to five thousand meters above sea level.
The Olrog's cinclodes differs from related species by a special combination of dark plumage and a bright rufous stripe on the wing. It helps maintain balance in high-mountain ecosystems by controlling insect populations.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
