Raorchestes kakachi is a small tree frog from the mountain forests of the Western Ghats in India. It lives on bushes and is distinguished by the fact that its offspring hatch immediately as tiny froglets without the tadpole stage.
This species differs from most frogs in that it has completely abandoned water during the development stage. It is important for nature as part of the rich biodiversity of Indian mountain forests.
Legendary longevity: over 100 years. Galapagos tortoises, Greenland sharks, ocean quahogs celebrate with family once every 4 years
