Labeo kawrus
The Deccan labeo, or Labeo kawrus, is a small freshwater fish from the carp family. It lives in the rivers of the Deccan Plateau in India and feeds from the bottom.
The Deccan labéo differs from related species in the shape of its lips and pattern on the scales. It is important for nature because it cleans water from excess algae and serves as feed for predatory fish.
