Tugun is a small fish from the salmon family. It lives in the rivers and lakes of Siberia, grows up to 25–30 centimeters, and is important for local fishermen.
The tugun differs from other whitefishes in its small size and the fact that it lives only in Siberian rivers. It serves as food for predatory fish and birds and helps maintain the balance of plankton in water bodies.
Immature form that undergoes metamorphosis before adulthood.
